How can I delete an incident? I can't find a way to do this anywhere!

No, you cannot delete an incident. You can only reassign the incidents / change the status from New to Closed.

.. and even if you convert an idea to a task or a project the original incident remains.

As far as i know, the incidents are never meant to be deleted, since these are meant for tracking purpose.
