During the install of Siteminder R12, you will notice that Active Directory is not mentioned in the install wizard for Policy Store Configuration. That is because it isn't supported for AUTOMATIC installation. The steps must be performed manually. Only the specific products mentioned in the install are supported for full automatic install and these include SunOne/Oracle , ADAM and AD LDS diectories.
