Is anyone aware of CA SCM being used as a "Definitive Software Library" ? What would be the Pros and Cons of using CA SCM in this way ?
Is there a better alternative that using CA SCM as a Definitive Software Library ?

Looking for guidance. All information would be appreciated on this topic.

    Thanks.

CA SCM shcould be your definitive software library. Every component of every application, release, build and deployment should be available/accessible in CA SCM.

    Cheers,

A Definitive Software Library (DSL) is a secure location, consisting of physical media or a software repository located on a network file server, in which the definitive authorized versions of all software Configuration Items (CIs) are stored and protected.

CA Software Change Manager (SCM) is an Enterprise SCM that can serve on a distributed infrastructure over a customizable workflow lifecycle, providing internal and external access (via Citrix)
as well as plugins for .NET Visual Studios VS2005, VS2008, VS2010 and Eclipse for use by your development teams. The product is a client to server to an RDBM (either Oracle or SQL Server)
model that can be a small as fitting on a single laptop or on a multi-server backbone across a company enterprise structure.

So I would think this product could fit the bill as a DSL for your company.
