  • 1.  Necessary Steps for Upgrade IMr12 CR6 to CR7

    We'd like to upgrade IMr12 CR6 to CR7 (IM Provisioning Server & IM Manager).In the readme, there's no detailed upgrade steps.  It seems that we need to launch each setup individually for each components (CA Prov. Directory, CA IM Prov. Server, CA IM Prov. Manager, CA IM Manager).  When asking for Full Upgrade or Binary-only/Patch-Update, we've choosen Binary-only/Patch-Update.  Does anybody already did a CR upgrade.If yes, what is the recommended strategy ?  Rgds.Cédric M.

    Yes... we have installed maintenance from IM-R12 base, including CR03, CR04, CR05, CR06, CR07 and CR08.There is no "well documented" method provided by CA.We created our own process, and follow the documentation each time we upgrade.We documented any custom changes (such as logos), and update those each time in our documentation.Yes... you have to install the "patch" upgrade for IM, and then do all of the components separately.  Here is some of what we do: The Major steps are:                          1 â€" Download the appropriate maintenance to the IM and Prov Servers                        2 â€" Install CR07 on Stack 2                                                a) Install on IM Server 2                                                b) Install on Prov Server 2                                                c) Install Prov Components on Prov Server 2                                                                        - Directory (Prov Directory)                                                                        - Manager (Prov Manager)                                                                        - Server (Prov Server)                                                d) Fix Workpoint Designer to work                                                e) Fix logon screen image                                                f) Fix email configuration                        3 â€" Test and verify                        4 â€" Install CR07 on Stack 1                                                a) Install on IM Server 1                                                b) Install on Prov Server 1                                                c) Install Prov Components on Prov Server 1                                                                        - Directory (Prov Directory)                                                                        - Manager (Prov Manager)                                                                        - Server (Prov Server)                                                d) Fix Workpoint Designer to work                                                e) Fix logon screen image                                                f) Fix email configuration                        5 â€" Test and verify                        6 â€" Install Password Sync Agent on Act Dir Domain Controllers                                                a) AD Domain Controller 2                                                b) AD Domain Controller 1                        7 â€" Install N16 Agent on IM Servers                                                a) IM Server 2                                                b) IM Server 1
