Looking for best practices for maintaining a Clarity training environment

I would like to ask the advice of those who have set up - and maintained - training environents in Clarity:
We have a training manager who runs courses on a training environment. She would like this environment to be a replica of the production environment in all respects other than the collection of resources, projects and services. Every so often she would like to be able to update her training environment so that it contains the latest functional and organisational changes which have been made to production. We would like to find an efficient way of granting her wish.  It seems that our options are: XOG over from production to training those elements which are new. Fine for portlets, reports etc. However we have been unable to find a way of xogging over OBS structures without also including those elements which are associated with them - making for a very large XOG operation containing lots of data that we don't want. Simply copy everything on production into the training environment - then try to inactivate all the extraneous resources, services and projects. Leaving us only with the training material. This is not a quick option when you have many financially enabled investments and resources.   I would be interested in hearing from people who have adopted either of these approaches-   especially if you have worked out an automated way of cleaning up OBS XOG outputs which include unwanted association data.  thanks  Phil
