Timesheet Status has been Locked by the Process Engine

We are running on Clarity v12, and I have 5 timesheets status thathas been locked by the process engine.   We wanted to stop using the workflow to approve timesheets, but for some reason these5 timesheets are still saying that the process engine has it locked it their anyway to override or fix this?    Below is the error message posted on the timesheets  TMA-0118: This timesheet's status has been locked by the process engine. It can only be changed by an action item
