Hi Eran,BrowserResponseTimeAdapter_v220.127.116.11.pdf, page 3 to 5 covers about how BRTA works. In regards to your 2nd question, I believe you are interested to know what is the performance impact on your existing implementation if you have BRTA installed. You can discount any impact BRT has as "negligible". Yes, it does send an additional request to the app server for every request. The request, however, is for 1x1 gif and contains the addition post params of GUID and response time integer. So I would think network overhead can be completely discounted -- this is like adding an additional small gif to every page. The only overhead I would be concerned about is the servlet processing on the app server. If you are running into a maximum for thread pool availability, perhaps BRT could push it over the edge a bit more. So in rare cases we might recommend adding a little room for comfort. I've seen requests come in from BRT in transaction tracer -- they are always 10 msecs or less!
Overhead on the EM really is no biggie either. A few dozen additional metrics. Of course, beware of exposing your agent/EM to metric explosion if you configure the URL groups wrong. This latest version of BRTA works with Introcope Agent 8.x versions. However, as Peter has mentioned as of January 15, 2010, BRTA is EOL. I believe, all the customers were sent notifications. We no longer support BRTA. CEM is a more comprehensive solution that better supports your needs and manage complex application infrastructures. We do encouraged you to migrate to CA Wily Customer Experience Manager (CEM). For more information please contact your account manager. Regards, Sergio
