A new utility called CASPLIT has just been released in Support Online for use by CA mainframe customers.

The purpose of the CASPLIT utility is to reduce the time it takes to FTP very large files to CA directly from mainframe z/OS systems. Instead of sending one large file, CASPLIT will first compress the file, then split it into smaller segments and FTP multiple segments concurrently. It is a TSO panel driven utility that generates the JCL required to do the AMATERSE compression, splitting of the file and FTP of the segments.

The Utility can be downloaded from the Download Center page of Support Online in the Freeware Utilities / Toolbox section: https://support.ca.com/irj/portal/anonymous/login?NavigationTarget=navurl://9a76e244e67221e9c4f832b1d29cca4f

There are two videos which explain how to install and use the CASPLIT Utility.

Hi Ed, One tip to add/share... you can use the receive command directly from the ISPF 3.4 (Dataset list) utility - just enter "receive inds(/)" on the first XMIT line, and "=" (without the quotes) on the subsequent lines to repeat the command - the "/" in the inds will be replaced with the full dataset name as appropriate for each line.  This relieves the user from having to 'remember' or 'cut and paste' each line command (see screen shots) below.

You still get the prompts as normal (but for each file in sequence... so be careful not just to press ENTER if you uwant to change the dataset name or volume...

Finally, you can Execute the start up member directly from the DSList Edit panel using the 'EX' command...

Thanks for sharing this real time-saver.  Nice!

Thanks Eoin O'Cleirigh, I forgot you could put any command in  ISPF 3.4, that is much easier.
