Great news! We've identified the issue with the Android app and now have a way to resolve it!
We found that users with a hidden name field in their profile are not able to access the Android app. The way to resolve it is to go to your privacy settings within the "edit profile" screen, and change your name privacy to "registered users" instead of just to yourself. We've found that this allows the Android app to begin working.
