I want to calculate the number of hits/requests coming to a portal which is monitored on daily basis.
Any inputs/suggestions/docs/ much appreciated and helpful to me.
With the "by business service", that is from CEM, could you use any of the SLA, incident management, defects metrics from CEM? Since SLA is based on the total number of detected events versus the number of failures. Would think the total number of detected events (based on defined business application/services) would be somewhere in CEM but I have no idea how to get to it.
Anyone really good with CEM that might be able to help on location and reporting on the number of detected events?
If you meant SharePoint Portal, by Portal, APM comes with an extension and you can refer to "View Active Sites and Page Hits" section of the SharePoint Guide (http://wilydocs.ca.com/Bookshelves/APM/188.8.131.52/Bookshelf_Files/HTML/APM--APM%20for%20Microsoft%20SharePoint%20Guide/inde…) for details. Regards, James.
It is jboss application on linux machine. Pls help.

You'll need to give us more information. Have you instrumented the application with the Introscope Java Agent? Which PBL/PBD files are you using (per your IntroscopeAgent.profile)? Some of what you are trying to accomplish should be possible with an out-of-the box agent deployment.
Hi ,To add Jakbuttler, can you also let us know what performance counters do you have available in the Investigator. (snapshot will be good for us)
If this would have been your WebSphere portal server, I would have suggested you to look into the WebSphere Portal->Virtual Pages->!ut(might be different)->list of pages. Now you can use Responses per Interval metric to get the number of hits per interval happening on your main portal page.Apart from that, if portal pages are getting under JSP's or ".DO's(might be under frontends->url's), you may have an idea of hits\sec using repsonses per Interval from there.
Below snap for your reference.
Can you please send me the "Metric Browser" tab of Investigator.
Also can you share the details which Jakbutler had asked ?
