Has anyone been able to use the Add Cost Plan Detail option within Cost Plan details view? I assume that there are conditions for it to display but can find no documentation or information on what they are.
Why you want to add this particular action to the CostPlan Details View when the ADD button on the same page does this for you?
And still if you want the same option to populate under the Actions menu on the top right,
1. Goto the Cost Plan Detail object
2. Goto Views tab
3. Select the Actions menu against Cost Plan Detail list column
4. Select the menu you want and add the 'Add Cost Plan Detail' action from the Available Actions to Selected Actions
5. Save and Return
6. As Andrew said, make sure the partition is correct and maybe you may have to publish the views.
Thats it, it woked for me and now I have the same action in the ADD button and in the Actions Menu in the CostPlan Details page as shown below:
Have you checked the financial management user guide ?
Can you explain a bit more on "use the Add Cost Plan Detail option within Cost Plan details view? " ? A screenshot with the description would be helpful
I have found no information in the guidelines
I have attached screenshots to make it clearer what I am referring to showing the Cost Plan view with the Add Cost Plan Detail option missing and the options that showing in Admin/Project object
Can you try and restore defaults on the Cost Plan views and check if the issue still persists ?
check the following.
I have found some system actions which just won't display, support advised these are for certain xogs(??)
(see cop status object for an example)
EDIT: editing my original question because I could able to find how to add Actions to Action menu (Object -> Actions -> New)
So may I ask additional question regarding process?
How can I add new action to the System action menu?
I'd like to set/update Last Updated Date there....
I'd like to create new custom process which will revalidate (update "Last updated date") dates for all Budget plans in project... Creating a new button "revalidate" is not so easy so trying to find a way how to do System Action in Process.
I'm afraid you won't be able to add custom actions to this list of System Actions that you see on the System Action Properties page, within a step action in a clarity process. These can only be Attribute Setters of Primary/Linked object attributes, Lock or Unlock of selected/all fields, System operations specific to the selected primary/linked objects and object conversions using a mapping code.
I see that you want to update the 'Last Updated Date' field. Hope you already know that this particular field on every clarity object instance is automatically set by Clarity to the current datetime whenever an edit/update happens to that object instance in the "proper way", i.e via Clarity GUI, XOG or system actions in process steps etc. So, if you still want to update/set this 'Last Updated Date' to your preferred value, without interfering with the normal automatic setting of this field by Clarity system, I guess the only way left is to do a SQL update on this field inside a GEL script in a process. Are you sure you really want to do that?
I've created custom process with updated Description field:
Then added this process to Object -> Cost plan -> Actions -> Add to be able to choose it under the available actions at Action menu:I've set "Map to attribute" to Plan of Record as I want to validate only Plan of Record (this is my assumption of this functionality, I'm right there? )
Unfortunately running that process was not success because of not selection any Budget plan (which cannot be selected).
Do you know how to ensure to update just Active/Current Plan of record only? Thanks a lot!
Hi Georgy or navzjoshi00,
Could you please check my above post? Thanks a lot!
Yes I know that, but not realized it now
So the solution doesn't need to update Last Updated Date via process, but just e.g. lock/unlock some field,
then Last Updated Date should be updated by current date automatically. And I only want to have updated Last Updated Date when somebody click on my "Revalidate" action at Actions on Fin Plans for example.
So finally thanks for this tip
