  • 1.  Does CA provide any procedure backup SiteMinder SMAUDIT tables ?

There is no specific procedure at CA Support to backup your old data.

You can check the DB structure in the policy server administration guide :

    https://support.ca.com/cadocs/0/CA%20SiteMinder%2012%2052-ENU/Bookshelf_Files/HTML/idocs/238767.html

There are basically 2 tables :

    smaccesslog4

The following table describes the logging that appears in smaccesslog4,

which logs authentication and authorization activity

    It contains an sm_timestamp column.

    smobjlog4

The following table describes the logging that appears in smobjlog4,

    which logs administrative events.

    It contains a sm_timestamp column.

You should involve your DBA to do the appropriate queries to extract the Data to prevent the impact on the running environment.

    Hope it helps, Julien.

Also it would be worth mentioning that it would be good to backup XPS audit files also (if they are not already imported into the audit database). The XPS audit files are located at Siteminder_Home\audit directory and it contains

SiteMinder administrator changes to policy store objects.
