Hello team,

what are the largest values we can use in the memory.properties file? we have 16Gb RAM on our Clarity server...

When running the checkinstall tool (prior to upgrading to Clarity 13.3) we get the following message:

Warning Message:

There is a strong possibility of receiving out of memory exceptions during the upgrade. Review the 'Upgrading Large Datasets' section in the 'Change Impact and Upgrade Guide' for information about increasing your memory settings. Row count in CMN_CAPTIONS_NLS=16514964

According to the documentation we create the memory.properties file with the following content:

defaultScriptMaxMem=4096m

defaultScriptPermGenMem=1024m

In the end we performed the upgrade and everything went fine...  My question now is HOW can we AVOID this warning?  What triggers this warning? Next month we will perform the Production environment upgrade and we would really like to avoid problems!!

thanks in advance,

Olivier
