I was wondering if someone could outline the limitations of this integrator tool.
Reading the documentation it seems that it can only query the investment and any sub-objects (custom or OOTB) and it is only read only, is this correct?
When we tested this sharepoint connector, it was just like a clarity_project to sharepoint_project_site integration. And if I am right, it just helps us to collaborate on CA Clarity data outside Clarity and that too for those also who are not Clarity PPM users. We couldn't modify any data from sharepoint.
Which Integrator tool?
If you are speaking of the one from CA's partner, IT-ROI, then it is a two-way tool. However, your SharePoint license must allow for this. If you are getting SharePoint free as part of an Office 365 license, then you are likely limited to writing to SharePoint - the base/free license for SharePoint may not allow you to write from SharePoint to other applications.
If speaking of the 'integration' that comes out of the box with Clarity, we've not pursued its use based on advice we received from CA - was told it only allowed the creation of a link - no transfer of data between the systems. May want to continue seeking input, but for our use case, the answer was 'Won't meet requirements, see IT-ROI integration tool.'
Of course, getting a bi-directional SharePoint license is not cheap....
