Hello I would, like to know if there is a possibility in CA Conrol Minder to manage passwords that are stored in text files.
Presently, there is no option for the Enterprise Management Server to update a hardcoded password stored in an endpoint file directly.
As you noted, an option is to use the REST API. To do this, write a script that makes the REST API call. The script would also update the file containing the hardcoded password. I have not seen where someone has posted a generic script that calls the REST API, but that would be helpful.
A similar solution is to implement the Access Control component on the endpoint. Ensure the SAM Integration feature is selected. Similar to the REST API solution, write a script that calls the acpwd utility to get the password. The script would also update the file containing the hardcoded password.
Do you mean password that are hardcoded in script files, if yes please find the link for the documentation to configure cli password consumer
Integrated HTML Documents
No, I mean passwords that are stored in configuration files e.g. IIS web.config file and etc. I know that there is possibility to use SDK to retrieve password using programing code, but that is not an option if you have no access to source code.Other PIM system allows to manage passwords that are stored in configuration files without altering the program code itself, and I can't find such possibility in control minder,.
ControlMinder does support REST API
