We have received a System Error. Contact system administrator message when we attempt to change the financial status on a newly created project from HOLD to OPEN.
Let me know if you have insight to what is causing this random message.

Can you copy and paste the text of the error message ?
What is in the app log for that error?
As suggested, check the logs. If you can replicate the problme, set up SQL Trace and replicate - that can give more insight.

If that doesn't help, raise a case with CA Support.

Were you able to resolve the issue, or, check as suggested by Biljana_Custovic ?
Yes. The issue appeared to be due to the Department & Location attributes on the financial properties project page.
