Have anyone configure logmon probe to monitor delimiter log files as follows:
Job ID, Job Name, Job Status
I do not surprise at all that no one response to CA UIM/Nimsoft's discussion.
I'm not entirely sure I understand the question, but I see no problem monitoring logfiles like that? Use regular expressions, and match groups. Grab job name and job status as variables, using job name in the suppression key, and expect job status to be eq "Normal". Then check the "clear alarm" checkbox on one of the tabs.
Finally, someone reply to my UIM discussion.
Thanks for the reply Anders. Basically, we would like to generate alarm when job is showing error in below log files which have "," comma delimiter:
Logmon reads the logfile line by line, so the comma delimiter on a line has no impact on anything? It's just a part of the string. Logmon couldn't care less if it's a delimiter or not. The part where I said grab job name as well, was just if you wanted to auto clear the alarm.
A filter as simple as /,Error$/ or *,Error should be able to match it, if you just want to trigger a basic alarm on any line containing error at the end.
