Is there a way to force a probe via script to rotate its logfile?
And not the way, reduce the size, set the loglevel high, restart, set loglevel as wished and increase log-file size and restart ^^
You should be able to do this by using the '_debug' callback using the parameter trunc_time. The following lua snippet
will truncate the NAS log (it has the logfilesize constraints set). The trunc_time argument actually is meant to tell the probe to truncate every n seconds. In the case below I tell it to truncate every 1 seconds (which is abit to often ), then I wait for a second to ensure that it has been handled (due to the time-resolution of one second) and finally I reset it to not being used (zero)
The builtin '_debug' callback is available to all probes (eventhough not visible in vbpu unless expert mode is selected) .
We are adding the argument 'now' to the callback parameter list, so a single request can be made (e.g now = 1). This will be available during the next probe builds.
args = pds.create()pds.putInt(args,"trunc_time",1)nimbus.request("nas","_debug",args)sleep(1000)pds.putInt(args,"trunc_time",0)nimbus.request("nas","_debug",args)
Whoa... thats tricky...
I'll try that thanks a lot!
well heheh do something, inkl stop the logging when trunc_time=0 till nas is restartet...
anyway... I can wail till something official is implemented, have some workaround done
