Just wondering how you guys monitor postgresql dB's ? There doesn't seem to be a probe with that name.
Probably another probe can be used ? But a find in the general probe list overview didnt give any results for postgres
I am not aware of anything for postgres but it would be nice to get a probe for that db as well since it's pretty popular. You may have to use snmp or perf mon metrics maybe to give you some data. I am not even sure it will show anything in snmp.
Not sure if this is relevant but I found one support article which discusses using the jdbc_response probe to connect to PostgreSQL. We haven't tested it but jdbc_response may provide a way to test basic database functionality by executing queries and evaluating success/fail, response time, # of rows returned, returned value, etc.
Unfortunately the URL no longer exists.
It has been republished to the CA Support site at:
CA UIM is working on creating a postgres monitoring solution and shall be releasing soon.
This is newer solution based on existing probes (jdbc_response and logmon probe) with newer monitoring templates for postgres monitoring.
