I am searching a way to populate a table in a dashboard with the list of our VMs guest that we could see in the vmware probe configuration.
Do you know where are stored those informations?
Are you using UMP 1.5 or greater? If so, your best solution here wouldn't be to build this out in the dashboard designer (you could but it would be tedious), instead, you should leverage the List Designer which is great for this type of thing.
List Views make dashboard creation of offboard probes (like VMware, Interface Traffic, Cisco Monitor, etc.) extremely easy, furthermore, with 1.5+ Nimsoft began shipping templates with the List Views, amongst these is one specific to VMware.
Here is a picture of what the VMware Guest Summary View looks like:
You could create a view from scratch for this, or you could import the LAR I posted here:
Also, be sure to check out this video on List View creation:
Yes I've done a such list, but the problem is that my management line ask me to create dashboard that sumurise and infrastructure schema and just a dynamique table with the list of Vms....
I've done something like that in another dashboard, but it uses "user tags" of VMs that are NMS monitored, directly fram database...
Now I need to display all VMs hosted by our ESXs servers (with or without NMS agent). I tried to find in database if there are stored, but I didn't found anything....So I tried to used the "vmware" probe as datasource but I do not manage to use the parameters....
Furthermore in the configuration of vmware probe, we could monitor the VMs hosted on each ESX server and I would like to retrieve this information (attached file) and use it in my table!
