Does the new Unified Monitoring Portal have any portlets for document management? If not is it possible to use a Liferay portel for document management? What options are available? Thanks for your help.
there was a previous post on adding other portlets to the nimsoft ump.
Thank you for the help and education. I am new to this portal, how do I get that portlet into the Unified Monitoring Portal? It didn't appear that was a listed portlet.
Neal was saying that while it isn't currently available in Nimsoft's UMP, it may be added - here is the post he was referencing which gives directions on adding external portlets:
My post towards the bottom of that page is what you'll want.
Thanks for your response. What version of Liferay is the UMP? Would it be possible to pull the actual Liferay Journal Portlet (Document Mgmt) and pull it into the UMP based upon your link?
Where could I find some documentation on the UMP?
I just checked the instance we have in our demo environment and I think the version is: Liferay Portal Standard Edition 5.2.3
Also, here are some docs on it:
Thanks for the quick reply. Do you know if there is a way to find and export CWM portel with Liferay 5.2.3? This portlet is exactly what I am looking for, but I do not know how to get my hands on it and into your portal. Please let me know how to proceed.
I'm not sure... I just emailed product management to see if they could chime in and assist.
Any luck with Product Support?
What problem are you trying to solve here by having document mgmt porlet integrated? as theoretically it should work but we have not tested the porlet mentioned in UMP. But if we understand the use case better then we can look at it for you.
We are trying to have place for our customer documentation. We would like to have everything in one place (monitoring, doc, etc...). Please give me a call and we can discuss 402-965-2348
Same is true for adding html code to a portal page. (ie explaining customers what they can do and see on a specific page). In taht respect document management is also very helpfull and available in standard Liferay. Unfortunately no response form productmangement whatsoever.
Now running UMP 251 and importing standard Liferay portlet is not supported anymore, (which I can understand) . In earliy version of UMP 1.5 this was possible, one say. UMP porductmanagement is keeping their coarse on social portlet stuff that have no or little use for our customers. A document mangement portlet is much more relevant in my opnion.
nb: Our ccustomer have their own collaboration enviroment inplace, so what is the added value?. It becomes even more strange when NMS is recently integrated with a servicedesk appliaction/module.
nb : to solve our problem we need to keep running an extra webserver to do the job, using the webcontent portlet that only provide a url-link. In fact is only a iframe function. Help...!
Let's hope that this will be incorporated in UMP 2.6 release.
please look at this post named:
