LOGMON Probe to Pass variable to script executed

Discussion created by owngeek on May 4, 2011

I know you can get variables by parsing the SYSLOG messages using a watcher profile.  Is there a way to pass an argument to the command to be executed that is derived from the SYSLOG?

For instance I have a Variable called $HOST that is the IP address of the router that sent the SYSLOG.  I use it to populate the source category.  Can I use the $HOST if I want to execute a script like "/bin/script.sh $HOST"

I dont see it working right now so if you have suggestions.
