Plixer Scrutinizer is a tool that receives Netflow and/or SFlow data, and provides historical trending of the resulting data. This allows visualisation of where the main traffic flows are, and can break it down by user, protocol and time.
I see that probe version 1.1 was uploaded into this thread, but the pdf is still just for 1.0.
Does verision 1.1 support Scrutinzer version 7?
Does this probe work with the free Plixer version or only the commerical version?
This will work with both the free and the commercial versions.
Version 1.1 still only supports version 6. The version of the probe to support Plixer v7 is just getting some updates to the GUI, so should be available in the next few days.
The latest version of the probe with v7 support is attached.
Should I be seeing the user interface illustrated in the Plixer Integration Probe documentation?
When I go to configure the probe, I just get the raw configuration dialogs, not the custom UI shown in the documentation.
Theoretically you should not need to code the library path into the probe. I believe the robot should get an environment variable named PERL5LIB when you distribute the SDK_Perl package. You might want to check if that variable is in your robot environment, in which case you may be able to remove the library path from the probe.
I think the current version of the Perl SDK supports ActivePerl 5.10 but not 5.12, so that error message is normal when the latter version is installed.
Sorry guys, quick question...
This probe looks good, but can it get the data from multiple devices as listed within the Scrutinizer console?
It seems from the screenshots that it only allows pulling of data from a single router?
We're an ISP and were hoping to use this probe to deliver Scrutinizer stats for multiple customers to their Nimsoft SDP dashboards....
No, currently it only supports a single router. It is on the to-do list for the next version (along with support for Scrutinizer V8).
When is the new version expected?
Also, I've set this up per the instructions. Where should I expect to find the QoS data within the NimbusSLM db? In snmp variable?
Hmm, when the probe runs it logs an error:
Nov 10 17:05:01:589 Controller: Timed probe plixgtw returned error code 2/0
Sorry Eric - didn't see the update.
Can you try running this from the command line? Change to the probe directory (<NIMDIR>\probes\gateway\plixgtw) and run:
perl -I..\..\..\perllib plixgtw.pl
Error code 2/0 is usually due to a Perl issue.
Note that the Perl API version 4.x only supports Perl 5.10. Also, if this is a 64-bit machine can you confirm that you have installed 64-bit perl (and distributed SDK_Perl).
Any update on plixer 8 support?
What's the latest Plixer probe version thats out?
Attaching the latest one I have which I received in March so I'm assuming it's up to date, let me know if it doesn't work though!
Attached is the updated documentation for installing and configuring the Plixer probe.
Could you provice some views of reports in UMP of Netflow data captured by Plixer
I would just integrate the plixer page into your portal with the web_content portlet.
Here is a screenshot I took of the UMP featuring Plixer converted QoS messages.
Do you plan to add support for Plixer version 9?
