Does have any way to monitor Cisco Wireless Controller? I mean, no just CPU, Memory etc. But also the quantity of APs connected.
If anyone needs in the future. We can do this using snmp trap.
We are monitoring WLCs by SNMP traps (snmptd), we have two profiles (the number of variables is different) with a single supp-key, one to alarm and another to clear.
If you want to catch the number of APs connected you can use snmpget with the OID: .188.8.131.52.184.108.40.206.6220.127.116.11.0 (Monitor the # of registered AP's on a 2504 via SNMP? | Security and Network Management | Cisco Support Community | 5906 … )
Have you look in are site : http://ehealth-spectrum.ca.com/ CA -- Certified Devices Search Page
if the device is not there then we need a Certification request if you want to monitor that device using eHealth or Spectrum.
Hi Edder Feliz,
But I am using CA UIM, not spectrum.
Were you ever able to get this working? I am using UIM as well. Right now we have a Cisco Prime Infrastructure (WLC) that we would like to have send the traps so we can take them and turn them into alerts. When I try to setup the device directly with the SNMPGet probe I I can never get it to test and pass.
When I setup the SNMPTD probe and I am trying to see the traps being caught with the Trap Monitor. I have the the IP of the server that houses the probe setup in the Cisco Prime Infrastructure and when I use the Trap Monitor to watch and see the traps I never see any from the Cisco Prime WLC. I am able to see other SNMP traps from other devices we have lots but none for what I am looking for?
Cisco Prime is setup using SNMP v2c and just a generic community like public but I don't get any traps. Any help would be appreciated, I have been pulling my hair out on this one LOL
More on a side note, support for more cisco wireless devices has been added to snmpcollector via the DCD.

It seems in your case the problem is with snmptd and so would have been better to be addressed via it's own thread. Was the new mibs added to snmptd? The traps should show up in the MIB Trap Browser.
I have added multiple MIBs but I am not 100% sure if I have the proper MIBs I got the MIBs from the Cisco Prime Infrastructure Admin Guide but the date on them is 2006. I am not sure where the best place to get an updated file is.
the correct and latest mib is from cisco and since they moved all that behind a secured site it is not possible for me to provide specific guidance. In general mibs don't change often and even the old one should provide some functionality so there is a good change that either the device is not supporting that mib or it was not correctly added to snmptd. If as mentioned the traps show up in the probe configure gui MIB Trap Browser, then it has been correctly added to the probe.
I am able to get the MIB loaded and the probe sees it and its there. I guess my issue is I went into the Prime settings and told it to send all traps and all severity just so I could see traps coming into the probe. I open the SNMP Trap Monitor I see all kinds of traps being picked up but none from the Prime Infrastructure. So I cant really verify its sending the traps and the probe is getting them?
