I want write the trigger for alarm, after 10 alarm it should generate the 1 alarm on NAS, and 10 alarm should be suppress ,,,so can we achieve this from NAS.
if any one have idea then please let me know.
Are you supressing an alarm from the NAS or just a general alarm? Do you have an exmaple of the alarm? The NAS has many powerful ways to correlate alarms, raise new alerts, etc. So what you want to do should be possible.
Once you have seen 10 alarms, and raised a new alarm, what will you do with the 11, 12, 13 ... alert coming in? Do you want add these to the count on the generated alarm, reset your counter and create another alarm when you have another 10, or carry on supressing all subsequent alerts?
Thanks for your prompt reply..
Suppose we have tunnel disconnect alarm and it will generate the every 10 minutes of polling interval now I want to do from NAS side all 10 alarm should be suppress and forward to 11th alarm after that do the same procedure.
Is there any option on NAS side if yes then please give me the example how I can do this.
Can any one reply on this...
I think perhaps you should try rephrasing your question. I at least have problems understanding exactly what you are asking for.
Also, perhaps mention something why you want to achieve whateever it is you are attempting to do here.
It does sound like you are looking for what I call "alertafter" option. Basically, an alarm should only trigger after failing N times. The nas does not support this out of the box like a standard function. You would have to make lua scripts and pre-processing rules in order to achieve it.
I'm not sure why you want it to repeat the behavior though.
I think the use of invisibility makes for a good way to achieve an "alertafter" option. It depends on how you process alarms if send them outside of Nimsoft Monitor. But the fact that you can set alarms to be invisible in pre-processing makes it a compelling option in my opinion.
If that option is what is desired here...
