how do you get rid of duplicate entries in USM? i.e. From home I select Servers / Windows and on some systems I have the server name twice.
I guess they're discovered twice, so you could adjust your discovery settings. Are they by any chance multihomed?
I had this happen before and had something "sql query" I can't remember that would blank everything out and start back from fresh. I just don't rememeber what it was that I did.
I though the nisclean process would remove everything but that wasn't it.. I have to say the dups are driving me crazy... haha
You probably have duplicate entries in your cm_computer_system table I would check to see what is being put in their and by what if it's discovery than the cs_type would be D.
Yes, USM is populated from cm_computer_system and likely you're populating that table by discovery / robot / ping etc. You can delete everything from that table and it will repopulate, but it would make sense to fix the root cause first. You could naturally only delete the obsolete records. There are also two other tables you need to work on, check support article https://na4.salesforce.com/articles/HowToProcedures/Reinitializing-Discovery?popup=true
Thanks, I look into that.
