I need help in understanding Storm Protection.

If I activate nas storm protection = Robot and set Threshold = 20 and Period = 1 min and Capacity = 100

Does that mean after any robot spits out 20 alerts in 1 minute, that the next 80 alerts received from that same robot within that same minute will be supressed?

Also, is there a way to configure storm protection going out to a particular emailgtw profile?  I'm would like to stop a user from being bombarded with email/pager alerts notifications.

I believe your understanding of storm protection is accurate.

There is no rate-limiting of email messages directly, although the alarm storm protection should help reduce issues with email storms. If you need to rate-limit email, you probably need to use a custom script in the NAS to send email rather than the EMAIL action in AO profiles. Then the script could track how many messages have been sent over a period.
