Anyone have any input on how long it should take to do a UMP 6.2 upgrade? We went from 2.6.0 to 6.2. So far we are at about 5 hours and it's been stuck on 12% during that time.
I upgraded from 2.6.2 -> 6.1 -> 6.2 and all of those stages went very quickly. Can't remember the exact time, but i can't have been more than 30 minutes.
I assume you've updated your NMS first?
The installers log some helpful information--in /tmp/ia or C:\tmp\ia if I recall correctly. It might help to see what the installer is trying to do. And you'll need the log to report an issue to support anyway.
Do you have antivurus running? I have seen antivirus make it take many hours. Normally I'd expect it to be done an half an hour max. Often much faster.
We had some confusion on the upgrade path actually. We needed to go from 2.6.0 to 2.6.2 then to 6.2 Our install is stuck though on 2.6.2 with an error that says 'error preparing probe for package distribution' and we can either ignore, retry or cancel the install...
Turned out it was old jobs in the queue. Shut those off and it started right up. Now the other odd thing is, the installer is pushing the packages to our ump server... But it took almost an hour to transfer the first package Java_jre (30MB). Normally distributions through distserv goes pretty quick. This normal?
Seems like an awful long time. Haven't checked what packaged actually were pushed to the server, but it's always gone much faster for me.
