With the Report Engine decom in NMS 5.6, what probe replaces its functionality?
We do use the report engine for several reports and I realize I can use the legacy installer if I need to, but I'd rather not.
You can use the Reports, Reports Scheduler, and Performance Reports Designer applets in the UMP instead of report_engine.
I was just wondering this myself and with regards to all the deprecated componentes. So what "probe" will actually be performing the processing of say report generation?
I'll need to use the legacy installer until I get my reports migrated. Once they are migrated, how can the legacy probes be decomissioned?
Once you've moved over to using PRD and Report Scheduler, the old report_engine probe can be removed by right-clicking the probe and choosing "Delete".
I am not completely convinced that the options in the UMP are a 100% replacement for the report_engine, but I will be looking at them more closely soon.
