  • 1.  Attempting to rescue List Designer Views from trial vm environment

    We had a trial environment built for testing Nimsoft.  Since we purchased the product we shutdown the trial environment however the VMs are still intact.  I fired up the vm's today and attempted to launch the UMP but no such luck.  I verified the Nimsoft service is running on the DB, Web, and Hub but still can't access. 

     

    What I'm trying to do is locate the custom List Designer views we created during the trial and import them into the production system.  Any way I can do this?  If so where are the views located?

    What exactly is not working? The UMP is not reachable? You cannot login?

     

    If the UMP is not reachable, check the status of the wasp probe. If it is not running, you may need to check the alarm list or the log to determine why.

    I see there's a table called dbo.umpListViews. you may be able to pull the content from value column from your dev DB table and put into production however I've never tried this.

    Ok I guess I was impatient when I started the services, since I can now access the trial UMP page.  My question is can I export the list views that were created previously on the trial server and import them to my prod server?

    Ok I figured out how to export and import. 

     

    To Export views

     

    - From List Designer choose Save As

    - Choose the view you want to export

    - Choose Export and where you want to save

     

    To Import the steps are similar

     

    - From List Designer choose Open View, Import

    - Browse to the saved file

    - This will populate the information in the lower section

    - Next choose Save As...

    - Specify teh location and name of the imported view

    I'm trying to export these as you mentioned but when I click on the Export button, nothing happens. No dialogs pop up. 

    The Import button does pop up a dialog box to import files from but I need to first export to import the old into the new.

    Trying this on UMP v7.5 and the Export isn't working for me.
