all is in the title:
Is it possible to store date in QoS?
Unified Reporter can connect to any database to get info, which you can do with dashboards and stuff as well you just have to setup the dap probe.
QoS data is numeric, so I guess you could store the unix time (seconds since 1/1/70) as a qos value? If you need a string date representation later on you could convert it with date formatting primitives...
Thanls, that's what I though ... but the question after is to know "how could we display in a list designed with listviewer in a human reading date format?"
In fact I would like to monitor production jobs: in am able to know if they are finished or not (thanks to sql_response probe I mange to run an SQL querie) but I would like too to know when it has started and stop and display that in a performance graph or in a list....
If you are inspired... ;-)
I do something similar to this. I use the ADOGateway and have a custom database on my NMS SQL server and I run the query on the Robot machines with a LUA script and send the results over the nimbus in a PDS and the ADO Gateway picks up the messages and inserts them into my Custom DB Table. From there I have a Custom Dashboard that has Tables where I use SQL Queries against the Custom DB Created. Sounds complicated but its not to bad. Once the data is in the custom DB you can use SQL Response Query to run and trigger alarms or include alarming in the LUA script probe on the Robot machine.
We do something similiar with some data from wireless controllers Have a few tables in the nimsoft SLM, this works good for reporting and dashboards but will not work for list view as it only sees qos metrics. We also put data in PDS and pick it up with adogtwy. PDS is essentially a way to put data on the nimbus bus for probes and such to pick it up.
thanks for those information... I've conatcted our account manager to get a temporary license....
Here is an example LUA script that shows making a PDS package and sending it over the BUS. I used this to test a traceroute probe i made. The ADOGateway probe is then setup to look for messages from TraceRouteProbe and insert all of the data from the PDS.
