url_response not running on RHEL 5

We rebuilt a server to upgrade from RHEL 3 to RHEL 5.  After the upgrade, the url_response probe would not start.  I got the following error message when attempting to run it manually from the command line:
./url_response: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
In /lib/, I have these files:
  • libcrypto.so.0.9.8e
  • libcrypto.so.6 -> libcrypto.so.0.9.8e
  • libssl.so.0.9.8e
  • libssl.so.6 -> libssl.so.0.9.8e
We were able to get the probe working by adding 2 symlinks:
  • libcrypto.so.0.9.8 -> libcrypto.so.0.9.8e
  • libcrypto.so.0.9.8e
  • libcrypto.so.6 -> libcrypto.so.0.9.8e
  • libssl.so.0.9.8 -> libssl.so.0.9.8e
  • libssl.so.0.9.8e
  • libssl.so.6 -> libssl.so.0.9.8e
This does not really seem like the "right" solution.  Does anyone have any insights about how a problem like this should be handled?  Should the probe be depending on the ".6" files instead of the ".0.9.8" files?

Thanks,
Keith
