    Hi,
    I am trying to use the variable_server to x-tract some values from the NimbusSLM-database (NimbusNIS), but only get the error 'Error executing get_connection_string'.
    Does anybody know how to avoid this?

    My next step was to try the 'Generic database' option. This doesent work either. In the 'edit variable' i provide server, database, user and password, but are still asked for a 'connection string'. Does anybody know this connection string supposed to contain?

    The documentation on these parts of the variable_server is missing, so I am a bit in the dark here.

    The data_engine probe has a callback for other probes to get a connection string from it.  Perhaps you can use the Probe Utility to get the connection string for your NimbusSLM database from the data_engine?
