this may sound like a silly question but I'm really not sure about how we setup new users to access the nimsoft on demand web site.
Can anyone give me a hint or point me at the correct documentation.
I am not sure if there is a guide, but this overview might help:
The users defined on the NoD server are Windows accounts for access to Infrastructure Manager. If you need more of those accounts created, you need to open a support case and list the names and email addresses of the additional users.
Please note that NoD requires usernames for both users and contacts to be in email address format. Otherwise they will not be able to log to the UMP.
Are you a service provider or an enterprise? What I'm really getting at is: Do you need to restrict or hide certain user data?
If you need to hide user data, you can go to Account Administration (this is in the Infrastructure Manager under the Security Menu or if you want to do it in the UMP you'll need to add the Account Administration Portlet if it isn't already deployed) from here the steps are fairly intuitive and involve adding an account and point it at the appropriate Hub/Origin - once done just add a user to the account.
If you aren't worried about hiding data, just create a new user within the User Administration screen from within the Infrastructure Managers Security Menu - this will just involve a series of right clicks and shouldn't require much effort.
If this doesn't help or you require further details please don't hesitate to let us know how we can assist!
Thanks - it was more a case of where did I create the user - thanks will report back once I've had a go
We are an enterprise organisation so at present no need to restrict users.
But my issue is the relationship between the various sets of users
The users on the On Demand Server
The users created in the infrasrtructure manager
The users shown on the AccountAdmin portal addin
The users shown in the portal controlpanel portal users
do you have any guides I should be reading ?
On the user list in UMP? I think that is correct. I am not very familiar with the accounts in the UMP, but I am under the impression they appear there after the first time a user logs in.
