    Hello All,

Can you please tell me, how to use "User Value 1" field in Transaction Entry for grouping in Cost plans. What setup we have to do for this?

    Thanks,

       Description:

The grouping attributes on cost plans include User Value 1 and User Value 2 but when you use these for your Grouping Attributes an error is shown "You cannot use this action when the grouping attributes contain User Value 1 or User Value 2." The cost plan is created with no grouping.

    Solution:

The grouping attributes (User Value 1 and User Value 2) are not available on the Rate Matrix as column selections and therefore cannot be grouped on a cost plan created from 'New From Investment Team' or 'New From Task Assignments'.  These attributes are intended for use with 'actual' Timesheet entries or financial transactions and not intended for use with financial planning computations.  Therefore, the use of the cost plan population feature does not allow these attributes to be used in the grouping for computing the planned costs.  You can create a 'Manual Plan' that uses the 'User Value' attributes. The 'Populate From Investment Team' or 'Populate From Task Assignments' also will not work after creating the manual plan. Use manual entries and planning on these two attributes.  Actual transactions posted into WIP will automatically appear on the selected groupings in the same manner as other grouping attributes.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Create a Cost Plan choosing 'New From Investment Team' or 'New from Task Assignment' action
    2. Select Grouping Attributes User Value 1, User Value 2
    3. Click 'Save' button

Expected Result:  The Cost Plan is created grouped by the selected grouping attributes.

Actual Result:  The Cost Plan is created but not grouped by the selected grouping attributes.

Error message is shown on the Cost Plan create page as follows:

You cannot use this action when the grouping attributes contain User Value 1 or User Value 2.
