Service Desk Record Locking

We have been building out several processes in PAM to work with our Service Desk environment. One problem that we have ran into is trying to write to a ticket that has been locked. This will cause our process to fail each and every time. Is there a way we can wait for the record to unlock or reserve the lock via PAM?
