This PowerPoint document details how to integrate LISA or DevTest with HP ALM 12.
Thanks Marcy! This is very helpful as my Allstate customer will be moving from QC 11 to QC 12 shortly and would like to use it with SV 8.2. Do we know when we're planning to officially support QC12?
We officially support ALM 12.01 now.
I was disappointed by the very first slide which says:
"LISA/DevTest Application Lifecycle Management Plug-in is compatible only with 32-bit LISA/DevTest Workstation software."
Because I use a 64-bit OS, 64-bit DevTest Wks and 64-bit Java.
I understand that it's the limitation from HP-ALM side. But is this the end of the world? or is there any caveats/work-arounds to it?
Right now, the OTA API from HP only supports 32-bit COM connectivity. The future from HP is their REST API. but they don't yet have equivalent functionality.
You can play with the DevTest REST steps to poke the ALM API to determine if it has enough functionality for what you want to do, but you won't be able to link a DevTest test to ALM through the ALM VAPI-XP mechanism using this (no "push" facilities from their REST API), so you'll need to think about your own framework mechanisms, possibly running your DevTest tests (when you've created the "pull" functionality in them) from the DevTest CVS server, so they run regression suites repeatedly and automatically on a schedule.
I would like to have a session with you. As I am using the HP ALM "Our Version is 12.01.6".
I am trying to connect to CA DEVTEST9.5.1.
Can I connect with you.
Yes. send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org .
