To:          CA PPM SaaS Customers Moving to 14.2 with CA Productivity Accelerator (CA PA)

From:      The CA Technologies CA Productivity Accelerator Team

Subject:   CA Productivity Accelerator and CA PPM 14.2 SaaS

Customers who will be moving to CA PPM v14.2 SaaS and who will be creating custom CA Productivity Accelerator (CA PA) content will want to either update their current CA PA v11.1 environment or upgrade to CA PA v12.1 in order to provide the content in a compatible format for the SaaS environment.  This content will be displayed in the CA PA Learn Link within the CA PPM solution.

Here are the steps to take for either option:

Install CA PA v11.1 CA PPM Help Menu Patch

      1. You can visit the CA PA support page at support.ca.com to download and install the CA PPM Help Menu patch under CA PA Solutions and Patches. (Please ensure you have installed any other required patches or enablement packs listed on the site as well.)
      2. Create and publish your content and provide it to the CA Hosting team by submitting a support ticket as detailed in the On Demand – How to Upload Content to a Support Ticket knowledge base article.

Upgrade to the latest release of CA PA v12.1 (note: IE8 is not supported in CA PA v12.1)

      1. You can submit a support ticket to obtain a license key and download the software from the download center on support.ca.com.  You will also want to visit the CA PA Solutions and Patches section of the CA PA support page to download and install any applicable enablement packs and patches.  Please review the technical specifications for this release which can be found on the support site. Content created in CA PA v11.1 is fully compatible with CA PA v12.1.
      2. Create and publish your content and provide it to the CA Hosting team by submitting a support ticket as detailed in the On Demand – How to Upload Content to a Support Ticket knowledge base article.
