  • 1.  Error obtaining install ticket for....

    Posted Apr 20, 2015 08:45 PM

Hi, I am trying to get unicenternotifier working in my red hat environment

I have copied a unicenternotifier.idb from another working server red hat environment and put it in the partslist folder

I have copied the entire unicenternotifier folder from a working server red hat environment into a folder of the same name under SPECROOT

I have restarted processd and the spectro server

    then I am running:

    ./launchinstdbapp 'hostname' UNICENTERNOTIFIER y /data/apps/Spectrum/UnicenterNotifier/UNINOTIFIER.OUT

    and I get the error:

Error obtaining install ticket for UNICENTERNOTIFIER
Processd error attempting to start UNICENTERNOTIFIER install ticket

Process Daemon disconnected: Can't connect to process daemon.

when I look on my working server I can see the process running using ps -ef |grep -I uni

but the process is not present on the new server

Im guessing that I am doing something fundamentally wrong

    Any help most appreciated.

I am posting the idb file below although it is working correctly on another server...

    Cheers

    Chris,

    Try this

Edit the App name in the idb file like this APPNAME;UnicenterNotifier

    and run this

    ./launchinstdbapp 'hostname' UNICENTERNOTIFIER y /data/apps/Spectrum/UnicenterNotifier/NOTIFIER.OUT

    Hope this helps

Hi - thanks - it's exactly the same - I was expecting it to say that it couldn't find the APPNAME but I got the same error - since all my systems are the same it feels like it must be a permissions thing or something but I have checked and checked.... - I'm going to log a ticket - thanks for your help

    Cheers

    Chris

Did you open a ticket finally? I'm trying to execute a custom idb file for a custom SANM configuration and I get the same error.

    Hi –

Yes I did open a ticket and I have just been through the ticket info and did not find the answer except to say that they thought the problem was that I had the wrong name for my partlist file as per this statement:

    G'day Chris,

I think the issue is that .idb file has a different name to APPNAME specified within it. i.e., the file is called UNICENTER.idb (lib/partslist/UNICENTER.IDB) but when you edit it, it will have APPNAME and PARTNAME of UNICENTERNOTIFIER.

    So change the name as follows;

    cd $SPECROOT/lib/SDPM/partslist/

    mv UNICENTER.idb UNICENTERNOTFIER.idb
