We are facing error when trying to open project issue. Below is the error message.
Error System error. Contact system administrator
Could you let me know what the process to debug this issue? Any inputs will be helpful.
First step is to check the app-ca.log, What is the error message in the log?
Have you contacted your system administrator (as advised by the message)?
if you are the system administrator then you should know that you first need to look in the server log files to get any details behind that error message.
Can you check the last updated by column for the project in the inv_investments table ?
Also, what do you see in the logs ?
We can find the below error in the app log.
SQL error code: 904
Error message: [CA Clarity][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-00904: "PK_ID"."ABC_PRG_CLASS": invalid identifier
This attribute is defined at investment level, and some how when we are clicking on project issues, we are getting the "Error System error. Contact system administrator" error message.
Is the attribute inactive ?
Is this happening for this project only ?
The attribute was inactive at investment level. We have activated the the attribute at investment level and deleted and reconfigured the same virtual attribute at Issue level. Now issue seems to be resolved.
But is there any other way we can solve this issue without deleting and reconfiguring the attribute at Issue level?
Not to my knowledge - what you have done is what should have been done
Its happening for all the projects and for the all the users including admin user.

We have resolved this issue by activating attributes at investment level and deleted virtual attributes at issue level. As the these attributes never used in issue, we have opted not to create them again in issue object.
The unsolved mistery is what was causing the problem? As we have just deleted and recreated them in issue level and deactivated the attributes at investment level again.
