As a recent recent convert to ca communities I am surprised and somewhat concerned that anyone (without logging in) can view what is posted on these forums. Am I the only who sees this a as potential security concern?
ROBERT Kettles hit in on the head! The goal for these discussions is to foster open dialog about CA products and part of reaching that goal is to make sure that these discussions are able to be found by those who are interested. We see about 10 anonymous visitors for every one user who logs in and this means we are making the information accessible and easily found by google et al. We do take security concerns seriously and there are there are private or secure communities and groups on this site as well as the ability to have private conversations. I also recommend setting up your privacy controls for your identity in your preferences, although we default to the strictest level of privacy to safeguard new users.
If you have specific security concerns please let me or one of the other product managers know and we will work with you to address those.
I totally agree. I suspect this is a misconfiguration on our end and will reach out to the community folks to review. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Actually i think it is a good thing
I think the idea behind it is so various search engines can index the contents and users can look for solutions by just going to their favorite search engine.
In the old Nimsoft forum I suggested to management that it should be more open as well exactly for this reason. I think it attracts more people to register and contribute when they can see that there actually is valuable content already.
