Sorry for a stupid question out here, since I am new to this products , I wanted to understand how and which all schema / elements in common or general comes into play when a call is made via Layer7.
Thanks in advance,
Can anyone help out with this question?
It greatly depends on what kind of schema validation you're doing.
For instance, in SOAP validation, there's a standard SOAP schema, and there also needs be a schema for the elements in the soap body, keyed on namespace.
In the XML schema validation, it will look up the namespace declarations and apply the schema appropriate for the inbound or outbound message depending on where in policy you include the assertion. This often has references to other namespaces, so often you would use the schema tooling in global resources for the other namespaces: https://wiki.ca.com/display/GATEWAY83/_Validate+XML+Schema+Assertion
For JSON Schema, JSON doesn't use namespaces, so you need to have a definition of all elements that are in the message you're processing, and they all have to be in the schema used in configuration.
