I have another question regarding SYSMSG.

We have 5 LPARS, and when the SMF dump is reaching full we want to kick off a job to dump the one LPAR with the getting full message; however the message from the reaching full message is very generic, therefore we cannot tell it what job to run without running all the jobs to dump all LPARS. So I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and if they came up with a way to accomplish this task.

Sample of the messages I'm not sure what LPAR they are due to they don't say. I sure there is not a way, just want to make sure I have covered all my bases.

    Thanks!

I found this MAINFRAME FORUM: Can we check the creation time of a GDG Generation

also a few other places.. i think if you wrap the SMF dump in REXX and display messages it may work better :-)
