  Hi Everyone - We'll be starting in just few minutes please hold your questions until we announce the start. Thanks!

05/14/2015    10:05:45 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone:

  OK we're ready to get started. We have some CA folks at an event but we'll do our best to keep up!

05/14/2015    10:06:28 AM    from Nei to Everyone:

  Hi all! I need that a resource works 50% from his time in a task (eg starts 01/06 finish 30/06) how can I put in Clarity?

05/14/2015    10:07:56 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to Everyone:

  @Nei, you can put in segments on the investment on the Team tab

05/14/2015    10:08:15 AM    from Floyd to Everyone:

  What is the best practices or how does Clarity handle a Scrum environment?  How are other clients utilizing Clarity to track Scrum projects?

05/14/2015    10:09:23 AM    from Ramana Chinnapapannagari to Everyone:

  Hello, Is it posssible to lock Multi-valued lookup attribute using Lock selected attributes in a proccess? Because I was not able to lock.

05/14/2015    10:10:39 AM    from Michael to Everyone:

  Best Practices:  1.) Our PMO Manager believes the only way to have “true” Resource Management is to capture 100% of each resources time.  What are the Best Practices?

05/14/2015    10:10:48 AM    from Martti Kinnunen to Everyone:

  Is there a problem with partition specific views for the resource object. We don't seem to be able to seem them on the application side. Just one. No problem viewing them on the admin side.

05/14/2015    10:11:20 AM    from Kathryn Ellis (CA) to Everyone:

  @Ramana: I believe you are correct ; there might be an 'idea' in the community

05/14/2015    10:12:12 AM    from Kathryn Ellis (CA) to Everyone:

  @Martti - does the user have access to the partitions?

05/14/2015    10:12:40 AM    from Martti Kinnunen to Everyone:

  @Kathryn, yes, otherwise I would not see the on the admin side either.

05/14/2015    10:12:45 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to Everyone:

  @Floyd we would recommend looking into the Clarity - VersionOne integration to manage Scrum and Agile projects. This is enabled in 14.2

05/14/2015    10:13:02 AM    from Ramana Chinnapapannagari to Everyone:

  @Kathryn, Thank you

05/14/2015    10:13:25 AM    from Nei to Everyone:

  Thanks Connie.. I was trying in task level...

05/14/2015    10:13:39 AM    from Kathryn Ellis (CA) to Everyone:

  @Martti - you might have to log a case to get full configuration details for review

05/14/2015    10:14:22 AM    from Floyd to Everyone:

  What if we are not using versionone?  Is there a way to manage/setup the projects so it is not tediuos and you are not tracking each story?

05/14/2015    10:14:23 AM    from Martti Kinnunen to Everyone:

  @Kathryn, OK, thnaks.

05/14/2015    10:18:14 AM    from Jean Niblett to Everyone:

  Howdy All ...  got a stumper .. we often split existing projects and use the "new from template" functionality to clone.  Issue is that we need  the "cloned from" project as a separate attribute for reporting.  Was thinking a string field with a process to copy but am stumped .....  similar is that we need the abililty to display Originating Idea as code instead of name .....  Help us Obi Wans....

05/14/2015    10:20:09 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to Everyone:

  @Michael Some of our customers choose to manage resource time on the investment allocation level; some opt for ETC, depending on how granular their project and resource managers want the data to be and how their business procedures are set up or executed. You should be able to collect a few use cases from the Community

05/14/2015    10:20:19 AM    from Atul Kunkulol to Everyone:

  Looking for best practice  on "Locking Financial Plans" so that no one adds or changes the cost plan numbers during a certain period in the the fiscal month. .. Is it possible? The only way I can think of doing it is removing security for everyone and applying it again every month? Any other options you may recommend?

05/14/2015    10:21:36 AM    from Michael to Everyone:

  @Floyd, without the Clarity - VersionOne integration you will be using spreadsheets again to manage Scrum & Agile

05/14/2015    10:22:21 AM    from Nei to Everyone:

  Is there a way to put  IMAGE on portlets? Something like portlet "Favorite foto"to all users.

05/14/2015    10:22:24 AM    from Kathryn Ellis (CA) to Everyone:

  @Atul - the Entity, Plan Defaults has a 'Freeze Date' option ; there is more information on this functionality in the documentation, in some KB and in the Communities on a Tuesday Tip... search for 'Freeze Date'

05/14/2015    10:22:59 AM    from Nei to Everyone:

  On Demand here...

05/14/2015    10:23:00 AM    from Daniel to Everyone:

  Hello everyone !!!, in a scenario where I need to register 50 new Clarity resources, what is the best practice way or method to make this action ?, and another question is: is there a specific form of see tables where records are enlisted in the tool ?, because in the reference document Tech, there are objects that are managed in Clarity, including ER models are saved, but in the document I have not seen for example in which table the corresponding records are enlisted in the Role option, or new records for the Skills option information is stored, the table where the information stored OBS Units is saved, along with all its elements that surround this organizational esctructura not know what I mean in this last question, in advance thank you very much for your help

05/14/2015    10:23:02 AM    from Kathryn Ellis (CA) to Everyone:

  @Nei - create an HTML portlet

05/14/2015    10:23:45 AM    from Jean Niblett to Everyone:

  @ Jean - Atul ...  I think you can create a process to lock the financial plan fields. You can set it to auto run on creation or manual .  And create a seperate process to unlock and create a job to run each week when a new plan is to be created

05/14/2015    10:25:41 AM    from Atul Kunkulol to Everyone:

  @Kathryn.. Thanks. That is an option I could try

05/14/2015    10:25:43 AM    from Michael to Everyone:

  @Connie Fu (CA), Thank You.  I will pass it by my manager & we will take an Admin class for CA PPM 14.2

05/14/2015    10:26:17 AM    from Atul Kunkulol to Everyone:

  @Jean.. That does not stop someone from creating a new one.

05/14/2015    10:27:39 AM    from Nei to Everyone:

  @Kathryn thank you.

05/14/2015    10:27:41 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to Everyone:

  @Floyd you could look into the Requirement Management module in Clarity to manage releases that can be tied to investments but no true user story tracking

05/14/2015    10:28:50 AM    from Michael to Everyone:

  General Product Question:  1.) Is there any way in CA PPM 14.2 to “comprise a capability and capacity needs assessment”?  I believe they just want to figure out what is their throughput versus what resources it takes to keep everything running in regards to day to day operations.

05/14/2015    10:30:28 AM    from Ramana Chinnapapannagari to Everyone:

  Is it jasper studio provides Portrait and Landscape orientation template layouts like Crystal reports? Is it possible have/provide wider than landscape layout?

05/14/2015    10:31:23 AM    from Atul Kunkulol to Everyone:

  @Katryn.. That tip does the trick. Thank you

05/14/2015    10:31:53 AM    from Martti Kinnunen to Everyone:

  @Nei Sama aswer as in https://communities.ca.com/message/101555372#101555372

05/14/2015    10:32:16 AM    from Nika Hadzhikidi (CA) to Everyone:

  @Jean : to see if a project has been created from a specific template, you can use the table odf_object_copy_flat for object_code project. The object_id will refer to inv_investments.id of the project, and src_object_id will be the ID of the template. Then with this information you can build a process copying this data to a field.

05/14/2015    10:33:19 AM    from Martti Kinnunen to Everyone:

  @Jean See https://communities.ca.com/thread/241731427

05/14/2015    10:33:24 AM    from Jean Niblett to Everyone:

  @ thanks Nika ...  rock star!

05/14/2015    10:33:29 AM    from Martti Kinnunen to Everyone:

  and the TECDoc referred in it.

05/14/2015    10:34:25 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to Everyone:

  @Daniel, the Entity Relationship Diagrams included in the Technical Reference Guide has a section for Resource showing some (not all) of the tables. Not all Clarity tables are included in this document but the Guide is very helpful. If you need more information than what's provided in this document, you could run an action trace against the Clarity pages where the target data is displayed, to see the tables and some of the queries. Just rmemver to always turn off the trace when you're done

05/14/2015    10:34:34 AM    from Jean Niblett to Everyone:

  @Martti -  and I have been digging through those docs for days and never found that one,  thanks again

05/14/2015    10:34:35 AM    from Nei to Everyone:

  ok

05/14/2015    10:37:37 AM    from Michael to Everyone:

  @ Jean Niblett, "in a multitude of counselors there is safety"

05/14/2015    10:38:28 AM    from Nika Hadzhikidi (CA) to Everyone:

  @Ramana, the default Jasper templates have both Portrait and Landscape options for A4 and Letter. You can also create your custom templates if you need a different size.

05/14/2015    10:38:32 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to Everyone:

  @Michael re: Capacity - The Clarity Solution Pack has a few portlets and reports in the Capacity v.s. Demand area, they might be helpful to you

05/14/2015    10:38:35 AM    from Daniel to Everyone:

  @Connie Fu it's an interesting idea,

I had not thought of that before, thanks a lot for your help =)

05/14/2015    10:39:17 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to Everyone:

05/14/2015    10:40:08 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone:

  Anymore questions out there? If not we'll start wrapping up.

05/14/2015    10:40:47 AM    from Venita to Everyone:

  We're on 13.3 - Are there any (operational) problems with an end-user scheduling multiple reports to kick off at the same time?

05/14/2015    10:41:42 AM    from Daniel to Everyone:

  now, for the first question, what's the best practice, way or method for doing action of register new records within the tool?

05/14/2015    10:42:52 AM    from Martti Kinnunen to Everyone:

  @Daniel, XOG, Data migration tool from services or third party toosl

05/14/2015    10:42:53 AM    from Michael to Everyone:

  General Product Question:  2.) Would like to determine the prioritization of these projects. Where do you start in CA PPM 14.2?

05/14/2015    10:44:01 AM    from Daniel to Everyone:

  right, thanks so much for your answer @Martti

05/14/2015    10:45:07 AM    from Jean Niblett to Everyone:

  Just want to say thanks to everyone for the help .. saved my forehead from banging on the wall again in frustration!

05/14/2015    10:45:16 AM    from Nika Hadzhikidi (CA) to Everyone:

  @Venita : there should be no issue with multiple reports to kick off at the same time if you follow our bets practices on the reports. We always recommend to do a thorough filtering, never run the report with open parameters, always ensure reports are tested, and custom reports run fast enough (under 1 min is best). Also the BO services should be created as per the Installation Guide, then everything should be fine.

05/14/2015    10:48:00 AM    from Nika Hadzhikidi (CA) to Everyone:

  @Daniel : in addition to what Martti said, you can also use LDAP if you use it in your company, and import existing LDAP users to Clarity with the Sync LDAP users job. You should be able to find more information in our Installation Guide.

05/14/2015    10:49:21 AM    from Ramana Chinnapapannagari to Everyone:

  Report Run instance right has two right tags for the same report, one with instanceObject id  and another one without InstaneObject ID when you xog-out a resource.  It fails when you xog-ing it back.  Is it issue with XOG? <Right id="ReportRunAuto"> <InstanceObject name=****** Report" type="CMN_SCH_JOBS"/></Right>

<Right id="ReportRunAuto">

<InstanceObject id="****** Report" name="*** Report" type="CMN_SCH_JOBS"/>

  </Right>

05/14/2015    10:49:33 AM    from Venita to Everyone:

  @Nika Hadzhikid:  Thanks !

05/14/2015    10:50:01 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone:

  OK Everyone - We're wrapping up the last of the questions and will be finishing up for today. Thank you all for participating and please do join us for the next PPM Office Hours in June!

05/14/2015    10:50:41 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to Everyone:

  @ Connie Fu, Thanks, Good Bye.. Where is the message board located?

05/14/2015    10:51:39 AM    from Connie Fu (CA) to Everyone:

  Hi Michael it's https://communities.ca.com/community/ca-clarity/content

05/14/2015    10:51:49 AM    from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone:

  @Ramana I wouldn't expect you could 'write' automatically-granted rights through XOG (e.g. ReportRunAuto), at best those operations ought to be ignored.. please note that the schema and contents for XOG output isn't necessarily equal to the expectations for XOG input

05/14/2015    10:52:09 AM    from Daniel to Everyone:

  ok excellent information about it @Nika, thanks in advance for this =)

05/14/2015    10:52:32 AM    from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone:
