Clarity 14.2 with Jaspersoft.
I have a report which requires 2 inputs.
Is it possible to link the popup for the inputs to a lookup in Clarity ?
So that the selection from the lookup is taken into the report ?
with the admin user (from Clarity)
But i think i found the culprit, i created the input control in the reports directory of the admin user.
seems that all custom queries, input controls need to be in the CA PPM folders.
Just want to make sure I understand this correctly, there is an advance report in JasperSoft which takes 2 inputs and you want to link it to a lookup which you have created in PPM through Studio, right?
If the above statement is true then is the PPM lookup, created in Studio, a dynamic lookup (pulling it from SQL)? If so then you can do a single select query in JasperSoft Studio on that report and add the sql query for that input. Hope this helps.
yes, i would like to get a department selection and a year selection from lookups as input to the report.
Do you have an example on how to implement this ?
Do you then get a selection from the lookups in the report?
After setting up the input parameters, it should pop up when you run the report. Following screenshots actually come from iReport but it should be similar in Jaspersoft Studio as well;
can't see anything like that.
The properties look like :
Because that is a parameter. You have to create an input control. In that you will find that option to create a single select query.
I found it.
But it doesn't seem to work. I published the report to the Jaspersoft server, then i created an input control in Jaspersoft through the report.
All i see is a selection with [null]
I have the impression the query is not executed for some reason.
Run the query in SQL Developer or SQL Management Studio, depending on the DB you are using and see if it produces any results. If so, then in front of the table name put the DB name i.e select * from dwh_ppm.srm_resources. Usually it would get the information from the DWH so make sure you have updated the DWH.
I've selected the CA_PPM datasource and used the query :
select P_YEAR from biz_com_periods where period_type='ANNUALLY'
In sql developper, this gives all my fiscal years, but nothing in the input control.
Hmm, that is quiet weird. Have you checked the Advance Reporting in the PPM application to see if it shows up anything? Also, did you put ca_ppm on front of the table name? I have only tested some parts of Jasperstudio but mostly with DWH as the datasource.
i've added ca_ppm in front of the table name, doesn't help. Window stays empty.
I'm going to open a support case.
With which user you have executed the input control?
Have you try to run the input control against a data source you defined yourself?
Great to hear! I assume it's worth to check the permissions on the folders as I suppose that missing rights where the reason for the missing data.
