Successfully installed CA APM agent for Websphere on Liberty profile 8.5.5. However there seems to be no metrics collected and the agent name is still defaulted to "Websphere Agent".
What can be wrong?
The reason why the auto naming wasn’t happening is simple because we were testing on a server without true running applications (but we didn’t know that until we installed on another server).
Yes, we did use "-Dcom.wily.*" in the JVM startup.
Also to avoid any unexpected problems, we de-installed the WebSphere agent and installed the Tomcat one.
So far it produces the desired metrics.
Many thanks for your usual help.
Please check the IntroscopeAgent.log, AutoProbe.log and application server log.
Everything seems fine that side, please see attached log…
The log shows the auto renaming failing ("The Application Server naming mechanism is not yet available").
Then the agent with try again in 10 minutes per the default value set for property introscope.agent.agentAutoRenamingIntervalInMinutes.
Did you create the WAS Introscope Custom Service to enable the auto renaming of the agent?:
Configure a Custom Service in WebSphere
Per the above link that will also enable JMX & PMI metrics so could also explain at least those metrics being missing.
Hope this helps.
This is WebSphere Liberty Profile, none of the things referenced in Configure a Custom Service in WebSphere<https://wiki.ca.com/display/APMDEVOPS97/ConfigureaCustomServicein+WebSphere> are available.

Sorry I forgot about the lack of an Admin console with the Lightweight Liberty Profile
The auto naming option may not be available and you have to manually set the agent name via agent profile or with "-Dcom.wily.introscope.agent.agentName" in the jvm.options file along with the other required properties.
What does your jvm.options file look like so far?
Glad to hear the positive news
(for future reference adding the Tomcat info. from your other thread Re: WebSphere 8.5.5 Liberty Profile Agent Installation)
Please use 'Introscope Java Agent Files for All Application Servers-No Installer r9.6.0' to install Agent instead of the default Websphere agent ('Introscope Agent Files for IBM Websphere Application Server-No Installer) and see if it makes any difference. Also you need to define below in JVM arguments
