snmp - EM.properties vs snmp action

Hi All,

i can see this statement in the APM configuration and administration guide:

"Alert notifications
If an Alert is triggered, and fires an SNMP notification action, the SNMP Adapter sends an SNMP notification (trap) describing the alert to the configured SNMP manager specified in the Enterprise Manager properties file.

"

however to fire an SNMP action we have to set the target SNMP manager IP address/port/community.

and i know that if i dont configure the snmp (=false) in the IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties, the snmp actions work fine.

therefore i'd like to ask you what is the configuration in IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties for.

FYI here are the snmp properties defined in the IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties:

introscope.enterprisemanager.snmp.enable=false

introscope.enterprisemanager.snmp.agent.port=161

introscope.enterprisemanager.snmp.notification.enable=true

introscope.agent.enterprisemanager.snmp.target.port=162

introscope.agent.enterprisemanager.snmp.target.host=localhost

introscope.agent.enterprisemanager.snmp.target.community=public

introscope.apm.catalyst.triagemapalert.snmp.destination.host.ip=

introscope.apm.catalyst.triagemapalert.snmp.destination.trap.port=162

introscope.apm.catalyst.triagemapalert.snmp.community=public

introscope.apm.catalyst.triagemapalert.snmp.trigger=3

thank you,

stefan
