Very new to this and I am trying to understand if there is a way to setup a default template for the Net_Connect and then push it to all my robots. Or is this not really a good idea, or possible.
Usually you wouldn't want to push net_connect to every robot, but rather have it on a hub machine or some other robot that does remote monitoring centrally. Of course things such as network layout (firewalls, routes) will affect it.
net_connect does support a default template (though I believe I saw a thread here mentioning the latest net_connect version has a bug in just that feature). The template is applied whenever creating a new profile, it does not apply to already defined profiles.
You can find information how to create and distribute configurations at Distributing Multiple Probes and Configuration Files as a Super Package - CA Unified Infrastructure Management - 8.2 - C…
Sorry, let me rephrase the question. How do I get all my robots setup within net_connect? Right now it seems like it's a manual process to enter in each system I want to monitor. Or is this probe really only for things that you do not want to install a full probe onto?
You can also add Nimsoft components by dragging elements (Robots/Hubs) from the Infrastructure Manager into the left-hand control (navigation pane) of the net_connect Configure GUI window.
Open the net connect probe ,create a group ..
1.Copy the required Ip and host name in word pad and drag and drop to Net connect probe group.
