Seems UIM users cannot be a number.  That is a problem for us where user’ SSO ids are almost exclusively 9 digit numbers.  (of the form 999888777).

Is there a workaround or setting that can change this?

We must have the ability to use numbers as account ids.

A statement is made, “Note: Avoid creating UIM users and LDAP users with identical user names

I’m not sure I understand the rationale.  Our intention is to leverage our SSO process using SiteMinder to login and create accounts, when necessary, in UIM. That seems to be the point of the process.
