CABI 4.1- Error

    Hi,

     

    I have done a fresh installation of 4.1 CABI and when am trying run servicedesk reports, am getting below error. please

    HI Khalid,

     

    Could you please attach the screenshot of the business objects services?

     

    For the reports to run, the servers must be started and enabled?

     

    Crystal Reports servers are not in the expected/required status. The servers must all be State=Running, Enabled=Enable is the Error messages reading in this case.

    From the latest screenshot I checked that there are more than couple of services that are disabled. This needs to be Enabled for the previous to be removed.

    It seems to be indicating that the Crystal cache server is not running. Please log into CMC, ensure that the Crystal Reports Servers have State=Running and Enabled=Enabled, and then retry running the report.

    when I try to restart the services, it shows like " Running with errors" and status " Disbaled"

    Have you tried to apply the latest CABI 4.1 SP5 Service Pack - ftp://ftp.ca.com/caproducts/CABI/CABI-4.x/SP5/Windows/

    Am getting below error after applying the patch.

    Hi Khalid,

     

    A probable Solution might be:

     

    Remove or rename and backup Tomcat web directory when Tomcat is stopped. Then start Tomcat, wait 15 minutes until all stuff get redeployed to WORKDIR and CMC, BI Launchpad should work normally.

     

    For example path: C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CommonReporting3\Tomcat7\work\Catalina\localhost

     

    Let me know if this helps

    - Stop Tomcat

     

    - Rename the LocalHost folder to something else  in  C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CommonReporting4\tomcat\work\Catalina

     

    - Start Tomcat

    Could you test the ODBC connection as below from command line -

    C:\Windows>pdm_isql

    . Start with command: connect userid*"password"@casd_<Servername>

    Note: casd_<Servername> is the ODBC that has been created during the installation process either on 32-bit or 63-bit as per your environment

    There is no password defined in this case? I am referring to the screenshot provided and I don't see any password input.

     

    Let me know how is the authentication performed?

    Going back to the first suggestion -   CMC -> Servers,  do you see any servers there still in Disabled/Stopped state?

     

    Is there any firewall on the system, maybe its blocking some of the connections into itself...

    I checked into SAP knowledge base on this matter, and it appears that there are couple of reasons behind this behavior -

     

    1) firewall blocking connectivity (assuming you have a firewall,  maybe this is an item you could check)

     

    2) license keys are invalid -  Navigate to CMC > License Keys    check if you have any specified there.  If none, raise a CA Support ticket, we will supply one for you.
